As the annual fundraiser, Billion Oyster Party unites 1,500 of New York Harbor's most enthusiastic supporters for a celebratory evening of feasting, festivities, and connecting on the waterfront. A fully sustainable gathering that benefits Billion Oyster Project’s work to restore New York Harbor’s ecosystem and teach the next generation of restoration practitioners, every dollar raised through ticket sales and sponsorships directly supports our restoration, community engagement, and education efforts.
Guests arrive by ferry, car, bike, or private yacht to watch the sunset behind the Statue of Liberty while eating oysters from some of the best oyster farms in North America. Devour bites from New York City’s most exciting restaurants, all participating in Billion Oyster Project’s Shell Recycling Program.

The Foodie Tour offers a rare opportunity to meet the passionate producers behind the North Fork’s finest artisanal food, wine, and beer. Our headquarters at Charnews Farm in Southold will serve as the hub for a series of captivating and informative guest speakers. Feel free to start your day there or dive right in at any of our other featured locations! Check out the list of locations and speakers that will be on this year’s tour. And with so many choices to visit over a 30 mile stretch of Long Island, we strongly suggest that you use our Tour Map to plan your day in advance.
Tickets are $30 per person and children 12 and under can attend for free. Get your tickets online or purchase them at any Foodie Tour location on the day of the event. Once you check in, you’ll receive your wristband and guidebook.

Dinner on this small island provides an opportunity to take in the sights. The skyscrapers of Manhattan. The Statue of Liberty. The bustling New York harbor. A seat at the table is a visual feast.
Governors Island is home to the Billion Oyster Project, an organization that engages local youth to restore New York Harbor’s lost oyster reefs. OITF is heralded for bringing lauded guest chefs to a variety of scenic locations. But beyond the immediate surroundings and the fabulous food, our ultimate goal is to tell the back story of the places where we set the table. The folks at Billion Oyster will tell us their tale and add to the meal.
Guest chef Rafiq Salim of Rolo's will set out from his Queens tavern with crew and knife bag to wrestle with live fire. If we’re lucky, they may even bring some treats from their other operation at Radio Bakery in Greenpoint.
⛴ Guests will be responsible for arranging ferry travel to and from the event.

Celebrating Women in Sustainable Seafood with Chef Nicole Cabrera Mills of Pêche

In honor of Women’s History Month, we are highlighting some of the unsung women working in sustainable seafood. Helming the dinner is 2024 Food & Wine Best New Chef Nicole Cabrera Mills of the celebrated seafood restaurant Pêche in New Orleans. Originally from the Philippines, chef Mills began her career with restaurateur Danny Meyer at the Union Square Hospitality Group, cooking at Eleven Madison Park and with Gabriel Kreuther at The Modern at MoMA. She went on to work in Los Angeles, and then in her native Philippines, and in 2013, she moved to New Orleans to cook at Peche where she is recognized for her innovative approach to Gulf seafood and her commitment to local farms.
The menu will showcase a variety of seafood sourced by a range of women in the industry—from Stefanie Bassett and Elizabeth Peeples of Little Ram Oyster Company to kelp farmer Suzie Flores. Join us as we dive into a delicious meal, gain a deeper understanding of the importance of sustainable fishing practices, and support the women who are making waves in the seafood world.
